Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at tajmedspa@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

To help you achieve the safest treatment and best possible results, please follow these recommendations before your appointment.

5–7 Days Before Your Appointment

If approved by your primary care provider, consider avoiding medications and supplements that may increase your risk of bruising, including:

  • Aspirin
  • Ibuprofen (Advil®, Motrin®)
  • Naproxen (Aleve®)
  • Fish oil/Omega-3 supplements
  • Vitamin E
  • Ginkgo biloba
  • Garlic supplements
  • St. John’s Wort

Never stop prescription blood thinners without approval from the healthcare provider who prescribed them.

24 Hours Before Treatment

  • Avoid alcohol, as it can increase bruising and swelling.
  • Stay well hydrated.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise if possible.
  • Limit excessive sun exposure and tanning.

The Day of Your Appointment

  • Arrive with a clean face free of makeup, lotion, or heavy skincare products whenever possible.
  • Eat a light meal beforehand to help prevent lightheadedness.
  • Continue drinking plenty of water.
  • Wear comfortable clothing.
  • Bring a list of your medications and supplements if you’re a new patient.

Please Let Us Know If You:

  • Are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Follow all aftercare instructions provided by your provider. Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat (such as saunas and hot tubs), alcohol, and touching or massaging the treated area for the recommended time. Mild redness, swelling, or bruising is normal and typically resolves within a few days.

It is normal to experience mild redness, swelling, tenderness, or bruising following injectable treatments. These side effects are typically temporary and improve within a few days.

Please contact TAJ Medical Aesthetics if you experience:

  • Severe or worsening pain
  • Significant swelling that continues to increase after the first 24–48 hours
  • Signs of infection, including increasing redness, warmth, pus, or fever
  • Skin discoloration (such as white, gray, or dark purple areas) or unusual changes in skin color
  • Blisters or skin breakdown
  • Difficulty swallowing, speaking, or breathing (seek emergency medical care immediately)
  • Any unexpected symptoms or concerns that do not seem normal

We encourage you to reach out anytime you have questions about your healing process. Your safety, comfort, and satisfaction are our highest priorities, and our team is here to support you every step of the way.

We understand that life happens and schedules can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice so we can offer that appointment time to another patient.

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, missed appointments, or no-shows may be subject to a cancellation fee.

If you know you'll be late, please contact us as soon as possible. While we will do our best to accommodate you, late arrivals may need to be rescheduled to ensure we can provide every patient with the highest level of care.

Thank you for respecting our time and the time of other patients. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to caring for you at TAJ Medical Aesthetics.

Results vary depending on the treatment. Neuromodulators like Botox® gradually take effect over several days, while dermal fillers provide immediate volume with final results becoming more apparent as swelling subsides. Skin rejuvenation treatments often improve progressively over several weeks as collagen production increases.

Every patient is unique. During your consultation, we will discuss your concerns, evaluate your facial anatomy and skin health, and create a personalized treatment plan designed to help you achieve natural, balanced results.

Bruising is a common possibility with any injectable treatment, but not everyone experiences it. While we use advanced techniques to minimize bruising, factors such as medications, supplements, alcohol consumption, and individual healing can influence your risk.

Most patients experience only minimal discomfort. We use techniques and products designed to maximize comfort, and many dermal fillers contain lidocaine to help reduce discomfort during treatment.

Not at TAJ Medical Aesthetics. Our philosophy is to enhance your natural beauty—not change your appearance. Every treatment is customized to restore facial harmony while maintaining natural movement and expression.

For your convenience, TAJ Medical Aesthetics accepts cash, Zelle, Venmo, and all major credit cards. We do not accept personal or business checks.

We also offer Afterpay and Klarna for eligible patients, allowing you to split your purchase into convenient payments. Approval is required through Afterpay or Klarna prior to your appointment. To determine your eligibility and apply, simply follow the Afterpay or Klarna link provided on our website before your visit.
